2015 Water Quality Report

The 2015 MLA water quality monitoring program was a success. In all, over 100 volunteers collected 1134 samples. The reports detailing the results of the program are now available below. You'll notice that the collection and analysis methods are documented in a special report, allowing the main report to focus on results.

Key messages from the results report are as follows:

  • Monitored lakes have consistently good water quality that is suitable for recreational use.
  • Most E.Coli values recorded are well within the expected range of values that would occur naturally; most were also below the MLA guideline.
  • This years ‘Focus Areas’ have been identified with yellow traffic lights. Classifying an area yellow means further investigation is recommended to maintain good water quality. The specific rationale for the yellow classification is underlined within on the area summaries sheets.
